This weekend marked the 12th Annual Central Jersey Cat Fanciers Cat Show. The event took place January 4-6, 2013 at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel and was themed “The Spirit of America.”
More than 200 cats competed at this show including Bengals, Sphynx, Maine Coons, Siamese, Oriental Shorthairs, Ragdolls, Munchkins, Persians, Toygers, Savannahs, Siberians, and more. There was also a category for household pets and kittens. Judging took place each day.
The show featured a variety of vendors offering jewelry, apparel, cat food, cat toys and more. Angel Paws, a cat rescue based in Colonia, New Jersey, brought along some lovely cats available for adoption and was the designated rescue group represented at the event.
"Participants came from all parts of the United States as well as England and Austria," said Susan Adler, show manager.
The show is governed by The International Cat Association (TICA) rules. By entering, all participants agree to abide by all TICA show rules as well as the decisions of the Judges and Show Committee.
Show rules are available from TICA, P.O. Box 2684, Harlingen, Texas 78551. Telephone: 956-428-8046.

TICA’s mission includes providing sanctioned cat shows which promote both pedigreed and non-pedigreed cats in a professional manner, and which are both enjoyable and educational for exhibitors, judges and the general public.
