There are three factors that I look for in a good thrift store. This is the price of the items, the selection of the items and the organization of the store. If a thrift store or second-hand store includes only meets one or two of these criteria, then it's not really cutting it for me. No one wants to go into a chaotic store that has good prices but you can't find anything in all the disorganization. Whereas, if you can walk through easily, find plenty of items to choose from and they are at a great price, then you've got yourself a winner. Saver's thrift is one of these stores. Recently I discovered that the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store on Menaul is one too!
I was immediately impressed when walking into the store and seeing how clean and organized it was. I soon discovered the prices are amazing. Only $1 for kids clothing and $2 for adult clothing. There was so much to choose from, it was not difficult finding exactly what I was looking for, and more! Not only did I find several shirts, shorts, pants and swimming trunks in good condition for my son, but I even found myself a few items as well. In fact, several items even had the original price tag on it as it was new. I paid only $2 for a shirt that had an original store tag of $24.99. There was also a great selection of plus size clothing to choose from.
Upon leaving I also discovered a big bin full of purses and bags priced at only $2/piece. There were so much to choose from and they were very nice too. I could tell that St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store does not sell trashy or broken items. Everything was in good quality or even great quality. We even got a huge stuffed animal for only a quarter. Some other items I saw in the store that I did not need to buy at the time were house goods, jewelry and men's clothing. Also, everything is tax free! If you're on a budget and want to dress the whole family for less, I highly recommend this thrift store next time you're going shopping. They are located at 4120 Menaul Blvd NE, 87110.
