“Runaway Slave,” and its subtitle, “Run from tyranny to liberty,” stars C. L. Bryant whose concept comes to life through this film written and directed by Pritchett Cotton. It includes an all star cast of; Alveda King, Thomas Sowell, Herman Cain, Andrew Breitbart, and Glenn Beck. There were also appearances from Allen West, Erik Rush, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Deneen Borelli, and many others.
In the words of Herman Cain, “Every patriot must go and support Runaway Slave.” And after seeing the movie I can only agree. I had the good fortune to see the movie after a short speech from Mr. Bryant himself at a viewing presented by the King Street Patriots. Mr. Bryant delivered a powerful insight into the path that led him to the making of this movie. He explained how he was ousted as a chapter president of the NAACP for refusing to give a pro abortion speech which led to the loss of his Baptist parish in his home town where he was once the reverend. It was there where he began his journey from his liberal leaning philosophy to the conservative philosophy based on his enlighten search for knowledge of the history of race relations and how it relates to the politics of the power structure of America.
Mr. Bryant took his journey on the road across the country searching for why there even existed a line between race relations and discovered the line transcended past race to all Americans. His journey is ours, (All Americans’), journey. The quests for answers led him to the knowledge of history that not only created the lines between races but the lines created between all Americans.
This movie takes it viewers on the journey with him and leads it’s viewers to the same conclusions his journey led him to. Allen West had a good summation of Runaway Slave, “Get off the, ‘Big Government Plantation,’ Run and see Runaway Slave!”
My summation of, “Runaway Slave,” expands on Herman Cain’s words, “Not only every patriot should see and support this movie but every man, woman, and child of this country should see this.” Even those across the globe can gain value from seeing this film about America and human nature.
I give this movie 39 forefathers signatures out of the 39 forefathers that signed our Constitution. Mr. Bryant would have made them proud.
