The popular animated FOX show, "The Simpsons," aired their 24th "Treehouse of Horror" episode tonight and it was pretty good. Famed director, Guillermo del Toro directed the opening which was great and very creative.
The first story was funny and was a nice interesting look at a Cat in the Hat kind of character on acid during Halloween. Dr. Seuss would probably have appreciated the spoof or maybe he would have? It was weird but kind of a cute skit in a strange Halloween way. The Borax part, makes a good point too.
The second story was about two-headed siblings. That was sort of funny, it was ironic what happened to Lisa and Bart. While it wasn't bad, this was probably the weakest story out of the three.
The third story spoofed Tod Browning's classic, "Freaks." It was weird seeing a buff Homer. The ending of that skit was kind of funny too. The best story probably out of the whole show all because of it being part of "Freaks."
Overall I have to say it's better than last years but while this is the 24th one, it's not like the beginning. Halloween episodes, those were classics and never get old. Though this new episode has been better than most of the Halloween ones that have been airing for the last five years.
So it wasn't a dud and it was a 4 star episode. While it's not like the early episodes, it still is telling viewers it's alive and kicking. Also having Del Toro doing the couch gag is always a win!
