As the owner of three small to medium sized dogs (roughly 25-35 pounds) that are not well behaved and generally don’t get along with other dogs or strangers, it can be difficult finding a groomer or self serve dog wash. We normally wash them quickly in our own bathtub but crouching on the floor next to the tub for a quick bath that soaks our bathroom just doesn't seem very effective. When I contacted Shampooch on 6th in Tacoma I was not sure what to expect when I told them about my dogs and our situation. To my surprise, their staff was very understanding and gave me some great tips about bringing them in and helping them socialize with other dogs and people.
It really turned out to be a bargain and a great situation for me and my three dogs. We use the stores shampoos, conditioners, scrubbers, brushes, towels, tubs, blow dryers, hot water and we didn’t have to clean up any of the mess either. One of my dogs has dry sensitive skin and they even had special shampoos for that at no extra charge. With the exception of one of my dogs acting out when her personal space was pushed, everything about the experience was fantastic. Considering that I have three dogs, it felt a little costly at first, costing about $10 per dog. However, once all three were washed, dried, brushed and home, the cost seemed very minimal and the whole process was very easy and convenient. In fact we cant wait to go back next month.
They offer self service dog grooming and provide all of the items you will need from the shampoo to the brushes. If your not interested in saving a little money and would like to have your dog groomed for you, they offer that as well. The prices very between the size of your dog and the length of their fur.
