Being an owner of multiple cats I am always on the look out for the best deal for the best products for my cats. Recently I purchased HomeoPet Wrm Clear in order to rid and prevent my cats from getting tape worms as well as other worms. Most vets suggest that you treat your animals for worms once a year. Once I received the product I read the instructions and began using it right away.
The product was not user friendly. If you have ever tried to drop five drops of anything into a cats mouth then you would know why this is an issue. Most things for cats that come in a liquid form for cats will come with a separate dropper to dispense the medication. I looked up information on the product online and found that some people added it to their cats food or water. With multiple cats this makes it hard to make sure they all get a proper dose but its far easier than trying to drop five drops into their mouths.
In a frightening turn of events one of my dogs some how got a hold of the bottle and chewed it up in the night and ingested an unknown amount of the product. After scouring their website for information on what to do if a pet ingests too much of the product and not finding anything at all about overdoses or emergency information, I frantically called a 24 hour vet emergency vet office. The staff at the vets office and I spent additional time trying to find on the website what is actually in the product as it is not listed on the packaging information. Once we found the information on a different website the staff member checked with the vet.
When she came back on the line with me I was shocked to find out that the ingredients are only vitamins and minerals that the vet said are not only not going to be harmful to my dog but also would not likely kill any worms either. Joking, she told me that I might actually be feeding the worms extra nutrients by giving this to the cats. I am very disappointed in the product. Not only was it hard to use but according to the vet the product wont even work for its intended purpose.
