Even though the movies The Terminator (1984) & RoboCop (1987) made a huge impact in the science fiction genre as both films dealt with a cyborg, there was actually another film about a cyborg released inbetween those two films entitled Eliminators (1986).
Eliminators is an action/adventure/fantasy film directed by Peter Manoogian. It stars Andrew Prine, Denise Crosby, Patrick Reynolds, Conan Lee, & Roy Dotrice.
This movie is about a Mandroid named John who escapes the headquarters of his master, Abbot Reeves, after he discovers that his master orders him to be dismantled. Along the way, the Mandroid encounters scientist, Colonal Nora Hunter; riverboat captain, Harry Fontana; & a ninja named Kuji, who all help him against Abbot Reeves.
The Mandoid in this film is bit of a mixture of The Terminator & RoboCop as he has the red right eye of The Terminator & the body armor of RoboCop. The difference though is that the Mandroid can attach a laser to his left arm & can fire without having to pull a trigger like you must do on a gun. Also, he has an attachment he can add to his legs which he can use to drive himself, much like a powerchair.
Now, obviously didn't have the budget that The Terminator & RoboCop did nor did it have the director that The Terminator did, James Cameron.
Another thing is that since it didn't have the budget that The Terminator & RoboCop did, it got overlooked.
Obviously this film wasn't as good as the other two films, but I thought it was pretty good nonetheless. I thought the ending was a bit cheesy, but other than that, I liked it.
I would give this film a B.
