Mattel's "Monster High" released their newest wave of dolls, the "13 Wishes" line and this author has been dying to get her hands on new doll Twyla. The daughter of the boogeyman is one of two new dolls in the line, along with eight returning favorites. This deluxe doll comes with a diary, a purse, and Twyla's adorable dust bunny pet Dustin.
Twyla is smaller than the other "Monster High" dolls, much like the Howleen dolls. Her limbs are fully articulate and my doll has no loose or stiff limbs. The make-up on her face is pristine with no defects and her hair is easily combed and does not fall out. Her outfit is very detailed and brings an air of the "Haunted Mansion" to her. The detailing on the clothes is fabulous: her shoestrings are spiderwebs, the prints on her shirt is very haunting, and her belt has a little skull in the center. The most interesting part of the doll is the designs on her forearms and legs, which look like swirling dust or smoke.
Twyla is a sturdy and well-made doll, perfect for playing and collecting. Twyla is the best made doll in all of my collection and I would highly recommend her for any fan.
Tips for doll searching:
- Buy from the store if you can. This way you can look at all the dolls to see if any were damaged in shipping or if there are any defects. If you can't find the doll in stores, use a site like eBay which shows pictures of the dolls.
- Shake the box a little to see if any limbs wobble. If they do, the limb is loose and will require repair before strenuous play. If you are just displaying the doll, the loose limb will not pose as well.
- Check many stores before you purchase and see if you can find a good sale.
