Logitech has been hard at work on iOS accessories and one of their latest additions - the Wireless Solar Keyboard (K760) is certainly no different.
This $79.99 keyboard is sleek, sexy and looks fantastic next to an apple product; be it an iPad or Mac. In fact, the keyboard looks very similar to Apple’s own Bluetooth keyboard, but adds a solar panel at the very top which provides power to the keyboard by any form of light; indoors, outdoors, low or bright lamps. Logitech says the keyboard, when fully powered, can work for up to at least three months, even in darkness, and after having tested the keyboard for a number of weeks, can honestly say that there is still plenty of juice left.
Besides it’s highly appealing look and solar-powered capabilities, what also jumps out at me is the ability to sync up to three devices, that can be mapped to the 1-2-3 keys that are found beneath the solar panel. So if you have your iPhone, iPad and Mac all synced up, you can simply click on a button to connect to one of those devices without having to disconnect.
Though you can actually use the keyboard with any bluetooth enabled device, it’s obviously intended for Apple products, as you’ll see familiar keys such as Brightness, Eject, Command and others. You’ll also get some media keys at the very top and an iOS-styled on/off switch.
My one concern is that due to the added solar panel, the keyboard feels a tad large, which keeps it from truly feeling like a portable device. Fortunately, the keyboard is at the least, pretty slim, and I found it to feel pretty comfortable, with its concave and clicky keys.
Needless to say, Logitech has developed yet another impressive keyboard that is not only Apple-friendly, but user-friendly as well. For any Mac/iOS user needing a wireless keyboard, the K760 gets a high recommendation from me.
