Liam’s Lessons is a small book with a huge amount of practical knowledge about recovering from a major tragedy. It is written for anyone about ten years of age or older, and it applies to everyone that has suffered a great loss. It is based upon a true experience.
Liam’s Lessons is all about healing, forgiveness and moving forward on the Spirit Path. The contents of the book were clearly a cooperative effort of the mother (Grandmother Blue), the soul of the son (Daddy), and the grandson (Liam). Each of the chapters begins with a title and a brief summary of the lesson to be learned in that chapter.
Liam’s Lessons begins with a Dedication to the author’s spiritual master, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and Isha yoga. This teacher’s wisdom helped the author, Lori Fina Jennings, overcome the grief caused by the drug overdose of her son, and the guilt about how she might have changed the events leading to her son’s death.
This book is about forgiving everyone involved in the events, and simply explaining how everything has worked out according to the Divine Plan.
Everything turned out the way it should have, even if the journey was very painful at times. Without the death of Daddy, there would have been no book and the knowledge that this book provides to those readers that have experienced great loss.
Liam learns that his Daddy is still with him, but as a spirit and not as a physical being. Liam also learns that he needs to express his sorrow and feelings of guilt and anger in order to heal from his loss. Grandmother Blue learns similar lessons as she is both a teacher and a student in her talks with Liam.
Liam finds that self-love is a key to loving others. The book projects Liam to an age that is beyond his current physical being. This allows the real child to grow into the wisdom that Liam has found through his meditations and communications with his grandmother and the soul of his father.
The illustrations and photographs in the book are often childlike as they reinforce the messages in the chapters. They are perfect reflections of the moods and experiences of Liam and Grandmother Blue.
