Review: Latitude 35 gives exceptional food, pleases customers

Latitude 35 is a place that tries to offer something for everyone. Located in Market Square, this restaurant by day and dance club by night aims to please their customers.

The restaurant is sectioned off into two areas. The dining room is located on the top level as you walk into the building. This is where 14 high-definition televisions are placed, each having a different sports game on.

The overall atmosphere is very much what you would expect from a sports bar—sometimes loud but manageable.

The level located underneath the dining room is where the dance floor is. Called “Lower 35,” this is where many will find themselves on Friday and Saturday night. Latitude 35 also uses this place for catering and private parties.

The menu is varied. One surprisingly good choice is the Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich. For $7.95, it includes white cheddar, bacon and Granny Smith apples on Italian sourdough bread. If you want to press your luck and attempt to eat for free, consider their All or Nothing Robert Burger.

This monstrosity of a hamburger has 35 ingredients on it, and none of which can be taken off. Toppings include but obviously are not limited to: salami, pepperoni, jalapenos, red onion, salsa and chili. If you finish the meal in less than 35 minutes, you walk away owing nothing. However, if you don’t finish, the price is fairly steep with the sandwich costing $35.95.

A side dish of your choice can also be given with the hamburger.

Side dishes include fruit and vegetables, rice, French fries and mashed potatoes. Each is priced at $2.95.

Another highly praised choice is the Ahi Tuna Salad, which includes Sashimi grade Ahi tuna seared rare, grilled romaine hearts, ginger chili vinaigrette and Parmesan sesame crisps. Latitude 35 has this priced at $10.95.

Being a sports bar, the restaurant’s happy hour is also important to note. You can find happy hour lasting from 3-8 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This is when you can buy ½ off drafts, $1 off bottles, $2.75 well drinks and 25 percent off bottles of wine.

Latitude 35 does just enough to please their customers. It isn’t the best dining experience available, but it still manages to provide a distinct feeling that makes you want to return.
