One of my favorite methods for finding great Bay Area music is digging through the indie charts and surfing through the digital sea of music pools I have access to as a bonafide record breaker (shameless plug). As I was sipping on my salted carmel hot cocoa and looking for something out of the ordinary to listen to I found myself a little gem, a group named HalfBreeds.
Typically when I sift through different music the first thing I notice before I even hit play is the artist's visual presentation; I must admit I was not impressed at all by HalfBreed's visuals. If one's visual presentation is messy or cheap, what makes me think the audio would be any different? Good think I can be a risk taker at times, I hit play and was instantly intrigued. Interlaced with warped sounds that fluctuate between dub, house, hip hop and rap, 30 Sec til dark has a unique sound that is coming in at # 7 for the indie ReverbNation charts. The lyrics are catchy and overall I enjoyed listening to this release. Honestly, I am positive that with a little "pick me up" on their graphics and a proper bio would move them a little further up those reverb charts. I love the sound HalfBreeds, but your not doing yourself justice. I am looking forward to watching this sound grow a little more with their professional presentation.
