Our organic food co-op carries some products made by Field Day---buttery round crackers, and Field Day's pasta rings, and ravioli. I've shared my liking for these tasty foods. No surprise---we're big on Field Day at our house.
On National Peanut Butter Day, a box full of Field Day's newer products arrived via UPS. Field Day asked me to try their peanut butters, smooth and crunchy, and their family of cereals---Whole Grain Golden Flax, Oat Bran, Whole Grain Multi-Grain, and Whole Grain Raisin Bran. I've already told you about the peanut butters. Would you like to know how their cereal fared?
We tried the Whole Grain Golden Flax first. Americans' palates have grown accustomed to the sugar-laden Big Name Brand cereals. In truth, they taste good. Delicious, even. How did the flax cereal taste? It compared very favorably; good---delicious, even! Field Day uses organic unsulfured molasses, cane syrup, and grape juice concentrate to sweeten every bite.
Field Day recommends a serving size of three-quarters of a cup. Stick to that amount and the box will deliver eight generous servings. The big flakes are filling. Add some fruit, bananas or berries, and you won't know hunger for a while.
