Review: ‘Fiddler on the Roof’

On the March 8 opening night for the now running “Fiddler on the Roof,” at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, understudy for the lead role of Tevye, David Girolmo took the stage, and commanded it.
Girolmo embraces the role of Tevye, a simple yet strong-willed and kind dairyman. Tevye does everything he can to maintain his family and the traditions he holds so dear. But with five strong-willed daughters, a loyal yet independent wife and an ever-changing society, the safety and stability of the world he knows is disappearing.
Set in 1905, this play speaks to us all about how times and life change, and how we need to change with them.
With rich orchestration led by music director Michael Keefe and fabulous set design managed by Jason Pikscher, the stage is set for a magnificent rendition of this timeless tale.
With an A-list cast of actors, this production delivers the best version of “Fiddler on the Roof” seen in recent years.
This show further cements the Paramount’s recently-found reputation of delivering Broadway-caliber shows to the western suburbs.
“Fiddler on the Roof” runs through March 24 at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. For tickets and information visit the Paramount Theatre website or call 630-896-6666.
