Today we’re looking at custom design it yourself cases from Casetagram. Casetagram offers a make your own case solution for most major phones today including the Galaxy Note 2, which we will look at today.
UPDATE: use the code VDAY2013 on casetagram.com to get a special "buy one get one half off offer" until valentine's day!

Thank you again to Casetagram for supplying their product for review.
Main advantage: custom design has plenty of options to make exactly the case you want
Main concern: long turnaround time, case doesn’t really add any real protection
Unique features: design software includes filters and templates to make a uniquely designed case easily
How much: $39.95 at casetagram
Alternatives: case-custom also with free shipping
Is it worth buying: the case-custom case is 7 dollars cheaper and still includes free shipping, but I can’t speak to its quality as I haven’t yet received a sample. For what you get, the casetagram case is worth it. You get to design exactly the case you want, on top of a thin durable shell. The shell alone would cost you around 25 from a major case maker. You’re basically paying 15 dollars for the design and printing
The case is available in two different finishes, a frosted black or a frosted white option. The case itself is extremely thin and all cutouts match up well. It won’t add any extra bulk and while it won’t fit in tightly fitted docks, it will fit in docks that allow a little room for a case. A small lip extends over the front edge and the screen is protected when placed face down on a table. Keep in mind though that this case is not really for protection, it will offer the most basic protection but nothing major. A drop will probably still crack your screen at the right angle. This case is really for the style and design part of the equation.
The design software is simple and intuitive. Go to the website and then you can either link your Instagram or Facebook photos and start dragging and dropping. You can of course, also upload any of your own photos from a local source on your computer. Four templates are offered, perfectly spaced squares, alternative large and small squares, polka dot, and full screen. You can potentially add 24 different photos to one case backing and have your full beanie baby collection with you wherever you go! Further embracing the instagram theme, you can add “Effects” which are just instagram inspired filter choices to your photos, 9 in total. Design is simple and checkout is simple, free international shipping is available for all cases. The one thing to keep in mind that you are getting a custom made case and my turn around time to actually receive the case was nearly a month.
The case that I received really is great though. It protects the Note 2’s back plate and sides from scratches, but not from drops. There is no built in shock absorption. I didn’t seek this case out for protection though, it’s a style choice. My main concern was that the image would be damaged after real use. The printing is crisp and crystal clear. After a couple weeks of pocket carrying the phone with the case, I don’t have a scratch on it. I’m careful, but that aside, the case seems very durable. Go get busy designing the perfect case for you, and keep a look out for my unique case out on the streets of LA.
