Review in a few: L'Oreal True Match Lumi foundation

L’Oreal’s latest foundation release is part of the well-known True Match line and promises a luminous, healthy glow. True Match Lumi Healthy Luminous Makeup comes in 15 shades total which are split into cool, neutral, and warm undertones. The consistency is very light and watery. Because of this, it’s easy to build up coverage from light to medium. This is definitely not a full-coverage foundation; you may still need a separate concealer for problem areas. The name of the product does indicate the finish – it delivers on the “luminous” aspect and isn’t overly greasy. However, bear in mind that since this is a dewy foundation, the oiliest of skins may not adapt to it well. I’d recommend it for any other skin type. The price point is average of a drugstore foundation ($12.99, Walgreens). My one gripe with this foundation is the staying power – you get at most 6 hours before it begins to separate on the skin. Be sure to use a primer with this one or you may not be seeing it on your face for more than 4 hours! All in all, it’s a good foundation, and I give it 3.5/5 stars: half a star lost because it’s just not “holy grail” material and a full one lost due to the lack of staying power. Not bad, L’Oreal . . . just not great.
