Reverend Horton Heat scores with REV

REV by Reverend Horton Heat

The good Reverend Horton Heat has done it again, twisted, sardonic, sarcastic, witty, classic undertones fueled by Gemini rocket fuel and surrounded by all the hottest pin-up models around. He may deliver an odd look at the obvious in this world, like “Let Me Teach You How To Eat” that simply smokes all the way through, but watch the video and see the above pin-up reference and you’ll be tapping your foot right along as you will on every song on this album simply titled “REV.”

He pulls in vibes and influences from the 50’s golden era of rock & roll all the way up through to Motorhead and everything in-between and does it so damn well that any fan of rock can’t resist the urge to jump, bounce, dance, stage dive, or body surf. Jim Heath and mates are masters.

“Zombie Dumb” takes the zombie rage mixes it in with a “Wipe Out” insanity and simply shakes the skin off your face. You can call them mainstream, off-beat, odd, rockabilly, punk, Satan’s answer to “The Stray Cats” and over-caffeinated perverts and you would not be incorrect, but say so with a smile as they deliver their own unique style of rock with energy, flair, talent, and a grin with a wink.

So, smile right back at the wonder that is the Reverend Horton Heat and do yourself a favor and pick up his Victory Records debut “Rev” immediately. Be sure to catch them on tour!
