Everybody knows that guy: the paladin with the shiny armor who lectures everyone about how chaotically evil they are. That’s Duke Gerard. Oh, he’s not saying anything per se, but you can just tell that he’s smugly looking down at your peasant hair, and your unkempt cloak, and the way you insist on not bathing after every meal. Duke Gerard is pious – the crosses on his armor are a big hint – and he doesn’t need to say a word to let you know he really doesn’t approve of your carousing lifestyle.
Although Gerard’s armor is intricate, his shield is oddly bland – the best thing to be said for it is that it’s shaped in an interesting way, but curiously there’s no cross on it. Maybe Gerard doesn’t want to get it dirty.
