Just Cause 2 was a 2010 open world game for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Gamers took on on the role of Rico Rodriguez as he reigned havoc upon another dictatorship.
This time; Rodriguez has been deployed into the island nation of Panau. The country has been taken over by Baby Panay, who institutes a dictatorship and cuts off all ties with the United States. Rico's mission is to oust Baby Panay from office, as well as track down and assassinate Tom Sheldon, who the Agency fears has gone rogue after disappearing during the regime change.
With the breath taking level are the features that allow gamers to bring down Baby Panay's dictatorship. The visual images are among the best seen in such a game. Controls are easy to learn so even if you're new to the series, you won't feel lost.
The most notable is the grappling hook, which has the ability to tether objects with no limitations (like Spiderman). This feature can be utilized in game play situations where the player can use the hook to attach a pursuing vehicle, helicopters, boats, buildings and landscape (this were the sandbox map is fully utilized).
Besides the hook there is still an abundance of stuff to blow up, why waste time with the story when you could treat the games like as if you're living in a Michael Bay film and just go around and blow things up. If it can be destroyed, it will be destroyed.
The only real draw back is the lack of weapons. Games like this need an abundance of weapons to allow players to mix up the mayhem. With a limited selection of weapons, the on foot combat gets boring very quick.
Also, there is no multiplayer which given the size of Panau along with the details of the city and bases could have been perfect for online chaos. There are also a few minor issues that can be over looked as well.
Overall Just Cause 2 is an an excellent game that no console owner should ever miss out. It offers the same GTA-style mayhem set in a tropical island. For gamers they should consider this an improved version of Mercenaries 2 without the glitches but more opportunity to cause mayhem.
