Rat Wax no shine soap and Rat Wax Detailer.

While I was at the Grand National Roadster Show held recently at the Pomona Fairplex I saw a vendor’s tent with a flyer for a product called Rat Wax.
The name intrigued me so I check it out. Out front was Andy Marocco, owner of Route 66 Speed Shop armed with a bottle of Rat Wax in one hand and a towel in the other was demonstrating the product on a classic car with a matte black paint job. As the weather was on and off rain and sprinkles on this day the rain just wiped or beaded off the paint.
As the owner of a 2012 Harley-Davidson Sportster with Denim Black paint, sort of a flat black. I was definitely interested in trying this product. The thing with this type of paint you don’t wax it normal waxes or polishes it ruins the finish.
Rat Wax is labeled as a no shine detailer made to protect matte, satin and flat paint finishes, it removes dirt, fingerprints, grime, oil, fuel and bird dropping.
Rat Wax according to Andy does not have any of the shine enhancers or petroleum products in it. I got a bottle to try out for myself I also got a bottle of their Rat Wax Soap.
The Rat Wax soap actually prepares the surface for the Rat Wax Detailer; it will take off the first layer of any wax or product currently on the vehicle.
Rat Wax does go on easy, the instructions on the bottle say to spray a bit on a microfiber cloth and then use a dry area of the cloth to rub the finish, I found it easier to use two cloths one for applying the detailer and one to rub the area being worked on, you can use Rat Wax on rubber, metal, plastic, chrome and glass. I tried it on my office chair, my laptop the outside only, my desk and they all cleaned up nicely, another nice aspect of this product is the smell, it smells like bubble gum.
Rat Wax Soap, it suds up nicely and does a good job of washing my bike make sure to rinse well.
Rat Wax made its national debut at the Grand National Roadster Show in talking with other people they seemed to like the product as well.
You can’t have my bottle but you can get more information at their website:
