This restaurant has one of the most picturesque urban settings imaginable; on the edge of an historic old neighborhood, it overlooks 500 years old oaks trees in the most beautiful section of magnificent City Park. The interior of the restaurant is tastefully restored to 19th century architecture with 21st century comforts, and is enhanced by beautiful murals of the earlier era. The ambiance of the current dining room is lively as well, with smartly dressed patrons enjoying conversation in elevated tones.
With a formal dining room, attire is upscale. Try not to let the heat of New Orleans make you wear shorts, then walk into this place. The formality will make you feel under dressed. All the men wore jackets while women used dresses.
