Food & Drink

Seafood is the way to go but specials of the day are also highly recommended for local flavors. The menu includes nouveau and traditional New Orleans cuisine. Be bold and sample the turtle soup.

The plating is beautifully done, the flavors make your mouth sing, while the combinations of textures and ingredients are imaginative and original.

Customer Service

Exceeding customer service, it is an ideal place to impress family, friends and colleagues during lunch, dinner or Sunday brunches. Service is right-on – friendly, efficient, and professional, and robust cocktails are the norm from the handsome bar.

Service was generally attentive and prompt. During the peak weekend hours, it can get bog down later in the evening as the Saturday night crowd reached full capacity, but not to a problematic level.

Price Point

Lunch selection ranges from $8 to $22 on appetizers, entrees and second courses. Dinner will start at $8 and rise to about $44 per plate. Brunch is similar to lunch prices.

In great formality, the dining room, whether lunch or dinner, showcases the ideal New Orleans cuisine. With second-floor balconies, the restaurant overlooks the City Park. The decor is elegant and shows a historic side of New Orleans, outside of the French Quarters.

This restaurant has one of the most picturesque urban settings imaginable; on the edge of an historic old neighborhood, it overlooks 500 years old oaks trees in the most beautiful section of magnificent City Park. The interior of the restaurant is tastefully restored to 19th century architecture with 21st century comforts, and is enhanced by beautiful murals of the earlier era. The ambiance of the current dining room is lively as well, with smartly dressed patrons enjoying conversation in elevated tones.

With a formal dining room, attire is upscale. Try not to let the heat of New Orleans make you wear shorts, then walk into this place. The formality will make you feel under dressed. All the men wore jackets while women used dresses.
