Rachel Cardiello: 'Warm Electric Winter' (2012)

“Warm Electric Winter” by Rachel Cardiello is a retro sounding Indie Rock / Soul album.

Cardiello has been touring for over 5 years as a solo Singer-Songwriter act, this record marks her first release being backed up by a full (non-acoustic) band.

Listening to the album, it's hard to imagine Cardiello not being backed up by a full electric band, as the chemistry and overall feel of the instrumentals sounds so perfectly tailored to Cardiello's style. The sound is very smokey and distant at times, like chamber pop with hints of blues and even funk... altogether creating a very 70's western rock sound.

Songs like “Winter Blues” add some dynamic to the album, with a progression that starts of slow with strings and accordion... and then builds and diminishes throughout, making for different and moody track.
