Edgar Allen Poe was one of the gothic-genre poet greats. His work is dark and thoughtful. From spooky tales such as 'The Pit and the Pendulum' to the claustrophobic short story 'The Fall of the House of Usher', Poe has reached the dark side of our hearts.
The upcoming film 'The Raven' puts a twist on the famous story, by putting Sir Edgar directly into his own story... AS A MURDER SUSPECT!!! The unique twist is intriguing to say the least. Poe (John Cusack) complies with a young detective (Luke Evans) to attempt to unravel the mystery and catch a serial killer.
From the trailer, we can only hope that 'The Raven' carries the gritty and spooky 'Se7en'-ish undertone that it seems to have. With a great cast including the amazing Brendan Gleeson (The Guard) and Alice Eve (She's Out of My League), 'The Raven' looks like a crowd pleaser for the gothic killer movie lovers. The film is set for a release date of March 9, 2012. I for one have this near the top of my must-see list for 2012.
