Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Chile, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Argentina, and Mexico were the eight countries that Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Jamie King visited in the first of 12 episodes of ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen to start choosing unique talent for a spectacular live show in Las Vegas. They are in search of dancers, singers, musicians, and the best street performers that contain sensuality, passion, and strength. Each chosen talent receives the next pass – an airline ticket to Los Angles for the next round of elimination. Millions of people auditioned via internet – facebook or youtube - or suggested or recommended by others. It's not only an entertainment reality show but also a teaching show of the Latin culture with it's vast and unique art in entertainment. It’s a superb, learning musical experience for the entire family.
The first stop was Brazil for Jennifer Lopez where she gave the first airline tickets to a 10 male dance group - Topazio de Capoeira. Marc Anthony set out in a winter storm in Colombia to see the group Swing Latino, salsa dancers in Cali. Marc chose them because their performance was passionate and sexy which are the ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen key elements. From Puerto Rico Marc chose the most famous plena group and the sexy twins Las Mulatas del Sabor. Although Jennifer wasn’t in accord with Marc but advised the emotional twins they had to work extra harder for the final round.
Jennifer traveled to Chile to visit a guitarist through a recommendation. After Pablo Pena received his ticket he stated that his life is going to totally change and is going to be a successful Chilean musician. A fire juggler, Sergio Rivera, was Marc’s next choice in Guatemala. Not all was great news, as was the next stop for Marc at a restaurant in Nicaragua to meet and hear Odalia Fernández sing. Her dream is to reunite with her mom but unfortunately Marc Anthony explained to her he was looking for something different. Three other performers also didn’t move on to the next round. The hardest task for Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez on ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen is giving the sad news.
Two performers from Argentina will also be traveling to Los Angeles – six males that perform a typical Argentinean dance – Malambo and tango dancers. The couple, German and Gisela, was chosen by Jennifer and Jamie King because they have the passion, sensuality, technique and they are sexy. In Mexico brother and sister Guillermo and Marta Castro dancers of the acrobatic quebradita (popular dance in the northern part of Mexico) for 13 years were rehearsing when Marc showed up. Both very emotional and surprised to see Marc himself, successfully performed acquiring tickets to the next phase.
Don’t miss the next episode of ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, it’s going to be just as passionate, sensual, and emotional.
