A gift from the heart, Pushkin's Bakery burst onto the Midtown scene on Valentine's Day 2013. Bold move on the part of the baker/owners, Olga and Danny Turner, since there was a line out the door! Not your typical bakery, Pushkin's is gluten, wheat, and dairy free -- not fat or sugar-free because then what would be the point?
Born from one simple (but ultimately delicious) gluten-free chocolate chip cookie, the Turners decided they wanted more public contact, found an existing bakery in Midtown, and VOILA! The rest is bakery history. Lucky Midtown! And they opened to rave reviews selling out on the day of hearts and flowers!
What sets Pushkin's apart? This is a dedicated gluten-free facility. Absolutely no wheat flour allowed which (inevitably) creates cross-contamination. For the gluten sensitive you know what this means. For the rest, we can just sit back and enjoy the joy that is Pushkin's.
Lemon poppy seed, carrot cake, chocolate crinkle, peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies, coconut cupcakes -- you will never guess, never know the secret. Shhh, your lips are sealed.
Closed Sunday and Monday, the bakery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 7pm -- mid-morning snacks and after dinner treats! Midtown just got a whole lot sweeter!
