Maureen Anderman (Sister Aloysius) as the strict principle is brilliant in her distrusting character. Jim Ballard (Father Flynn) gives one of his strongest performances to date as a caring, loving, Priest who may or may not have befriended a student in a unacceptable relationship. Julie Kleiner (Sister James) the fresh excited school teacher is perfect for the counterpart character needed to support this compelling story of true "Doubt".
Karen Stephens (Mrs. Muller) gives an outstanding performance as the loving mother of a child that would overlook any flaws of her adolescent son to get him through school, no matter how horrific those flaws could be seen to a staunch Nun. Karen relishes each and every beat in this script. Having seen the play endless times Stephens gives a topping performance.
Is the evidence sufficient to convict the Priest in wrong doing? The principle has her faith of suspicions. Her belief that the priest is guilty is unwavering having the audience wondering what facts are punishable, horrific or false.
