What do you do when you have more money than you can shake a stick at? Simple you put together a journey that no man has gone on before.
Two Archaeologists Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) and Charlie Halloway (Logan Marshall Green) discover a map that they believe will take them to the creation of mankind. So you want to find the beginnings of man and Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) wants to finance it , of course you team up to accomplish this.
Now this mission is going to take years to get there so of course you need to build a computer that will run the ship and make sure all is well when you go to meet your creator. So the Weyland Corporation builds an android they name David (Michael Fassbender).to do the task of pilot.
The crew reaches the planet in question and they believe they have discovered another species of life. They find bones and images of a holographic nature but are these the creators of the human race. A severe storm takes over the area and some of the crew are stranded in what appears to be a space ship. Decisions are being made not by the people who should be in charge but by an employee of the Weyland Corporation. Vickers (Charlize Theron) is her name and her goal is a hidden secret from the crew that causes major problems in the near future.
Director Ridley Scott does a wonderful job at laying the groundwork for what was the original movie in this series and that is 'Alien'. This prequel lacks a little in it's concept of who and what the creator of the human race should be. It does have it's good points and I think you should watch this with an open mind especially if your an 'Alien' series enthusiast.
