We all want to have that fresh, photo shoot ready look when it comes to our makeup. I often times hear women complain about their long-wear foundation not fully living up to its marketed promises. If you have this issue with your makeup and find yourself constantly changing your foundations as a result, you need to know that it is not your foundation...it's you! The problem that you have been having, is that you have been skipping a very important step in your 'routine' and that is applying a primer prior to your foundation.
Your face is essentially a bare canvas, and like any bare surface -- whether it be a living room wall or your face -- you need to prime before you paint! Most primers help to minimize the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles in addition to allowing your foundation to look flawless and radiant for hours on end! There are also primers that are designed to correct skin discoloration, specifically redness.
As someone with oily skin I have tried countless primers, from drugstore to high end, and I'd never found one that I was satisfied with until now! I have given 'holy grail' status to the POREfessional Primer from Benefit Cosmetics. The primer is described as a 'pro balm' that quickly minimizes the appearance of pores and fine lines. I love this primer, because it does what it says! It is oil-free, so you do not have to worry about it clogging up your pores and causing unwanted breakouts. It contains Vitamin E to help protect your skin from free radicals. Also, it can be applied on top of makeup for quick touch ups, and because it is translucent it works for all skin tones. This primer keeps my makeup looking fabulous even after 10 hours! It is basically magic in a tube!
