'Pretty Little Liars' 'What Becomes of the Broken Hearted review: No one is safe (Photos)

Spencer (Troian Bellisario) may still be swirling out of control on "Pretty Little Liars" "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted," which aired on Feb. 12 on ABC Family, but that's hardly the big story of the night.

As usual, Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Aria (Lucy Hale) had some drama of their own. Hanna reunited Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) with his dad, once known as his uncle Jamie, and Aria spent some quality time with Wes (Gregg Sulkin), which even ended with an unasked-for kiss. But, as usual with "PLL," these were hardly the most shocking moments.

Even Spencer's continued downward spiral wasn't as gut-wrenching as it was in last week’s "Dead to Me." Of course, she still had her moments, like getting kicked off the academic decathalon team and blaming Mona (Janel Parrish). Then there was the awkward moment with Andrew (Brandon Jones), where she "fought" for her place on the team by having a game of strip decathlon.

Fortunately though, Spencer’s friends -- or at least Emily (Shay Mitchell) -- are realizing just how out of control Spencer has become. Emily does chide her though, attempting to get her to snap out of it, but to no avail. "You don't have a monopoly on pain," Emily tells her on "Pretty Little Liars" "What Becomes of the Broken Hearted."

Yet, Emily has no clue what Spencer is really going through, considering Spencer still won't tell her "PLL" friends about Toby (Keegan Allen). And now A is threatening her all over again: "You rat out T, I take down 1 of your 3."

At the end of her rope, Spencer literally attacks Mona. She still hasn't hit rock bottom amazingly, but really it's only a question of when.

The real story of the night was all about what happened to Emily and, especially, Jason (Drew Van Acker). Ali's brother has a photo from Cape May in some apartment that his family rented. They find that photo -- which is Ali on a boat with not only Darren Wilden (Byrce Johnson) but also Cece (Vanessa Ray) -- but then there's an "accident." The elevator gets stuck between floors. Emily escapes, but Jason isn't nearly as lucky.

Or is he? He ends up in the hospital with an apparent broken neck, but just when the other "Pretty Little Liars" girls show up, responding to Emily's S.O.S., Jason goes missing. But he did give Emily one clue before his vanishing act: the elevator accident was about the N.A.T. Club, and someone wants him gone. That someone also took the incriminating photo from him at some point.

But who? Chances are it's the A team, but is Cece a part of the A team? Jason told Emily of a memory he failed to tell police, that of Cece talking to Melissa Hastings (Torrey DeVitto) the night of Ali’s murder. And Cece did ditch Aria and Wes at her shop, claiming her car got towed, which it most definitely didn't. As Jason says, maybe Cece is playing a game of her own.

"Pretty Little Liars" airs on ABC Family Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. EST.
