The story follows a treasure chaser (Brian Krause) looking to pay back a couple of shady characters by diving for spanish gold in the middle of the sea. After they blow an underwater cave they unbeknownst to themselves unleashes a prehistoric dinosaur that has the size of a T-Rex but is able to survive under the ocean. Well the worlds of the treasure hunter collides with a marine biologist and a young couple on vacation as they all try to escape the chaos and carnage of Poseidon Rex.

This is a film that you have to take for what it is. If you are not a fan of these types of films now, don’t think that you will ever be. Luckily for those of us who have always enjoyed the big time cheesy films Rex sits right along with the rest of them. Unlike other sites that would use this time to go back and forth with reasons why to hate these films we would rather just provide you with the details that makes this worth your time. First the film is not too long and moves at a great pace. If you can get past the repeated use of the “Como te llamas” song that plays a majority of the film we think you will get a kick out of Poseidon Rex. Rex is big time fun with tons of big guns, big explosions, and some sneaky comedy that allows Rex to be a valid watch for many. If you have the balls to check out any films like this than you are the type of audience Rex was made for. You will see that it is not too much of a drop from any of the similar films out there.

Some films are just made for the benefit of entertainment and that’s why movies like Poseidon;s Rex exists. Even still you may find characters you grow to love that can cause films like this to grab immediate cult film status. It’s almost comical to see films like this taken serious by critics as it shows the over sensitivity some of us have towards movies. Poseidon Rex is a rollercoaster of action, comedy and excitement that is good enough for you guys to grab your popcorn and watch with no regrets!

Poseidon Rex is directed by Mark L.Lester and stars Brian Krause, Anne McDaniels, and Steven Helmkamp. It is available now on itunes and limited theaters with a special showing tonight at the Tivoli theater in St. Louis, Mo. It is being distributed courtesy of Anderson Digital.
