Exactly 4 weeks ago, I added Pravana purple to my hair. I did brown to violet ombre and it still is going strong. After bleaching half of my hair, I was afraid of ruining my hair completely. Once I put the purple on, I had more hope. Not only was the violet dye going directly on the hair (without mixing any peroxide) but it also had a nice smell to it. I then knew that bleaching would be the worst part when it comes to adding an extreme color.
Unfortunately my hair bleeds every time I wash my hair. But the color has stayed for more than a month, and I only used half of the dye. I recommend this purple if you want long lasting color. Just be sure to have a towel you don’t mind ruining, especially when you first dye it.
Overall, I love it. The color is great and long lasting. Pravana violet is part of the Chromasilk Vivids line, a semi-permanent hair dye, and there are several colors to choose from. I bought mine online at ImageBeauty.com for less than $8 (not including shipping) but can also be bought at Salon Centric for those who are licensed. I can assure you that Pravana’s violet is a better quality than Manic Panic. If you are not licensed, the closest purple to this would be the Ion Color Brilliance Brights brand, sold at Sally Beauty Supply.
