Positive Contact by Dogfish Head is one of the newer creations (original release 12/2011) from the brewery to be released through multiple states. This beer is actually a "hybrid" of sorts; by way of the combining with Fuji apple cider. This brew also uses cilantro, roasted farro, cilantro and cayenne pepper. Initially reading the label, this combination seems odd and most likely a stretch. In actuality, this beer is beyond enjoyable & some would consider excellent. The aroma is quite extraordinary with notes of the Fuji apple & farro present. The flavor is a very mild and light malt character with hints of apple. The other spices are present but, detectable slightly at various points across the palate. Such an intriguing beer would be pair well with food. In fact, Dogfish recommends "a summer salad of blueberries, strawberries, goat cheese, spiced nuts, and lettuces. BBQ chicken, ribs, grilled corn, grilled eggplant, strawberry shortcake."
