There were many different choices of events to go to last weekend, all of which would probably easily make you broke, but if you chose to make it to the Porter Robinson DJ set at the Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmo, you chose wisely!

Why is this article a little late? I chose to try and go to all of the events, and wanted to try and get a taste of everything that was happening for my first Memorial Day in Vegas. I have finally recovered, got my bearings and have found some words for what I saw.

Porter Robinson will always stick out in my head as a top producer because he purposely stays off the beaten path and succeeds at it. Most producers say, "oh I'm going to make something original" and they end up sounding exactly like the last top 10 Beatport chart tracks. Porter creates tracks that come at the top of the charts from an entirely different angle. This made going to the super crowded Marquee Dayclub completely worth it.

Why was it buzzing? Not everywhere gets to hear a DJ set from him. The crowd had a different flavor to it than its normal surprisingly energetic mid-day vibe. Take the vibe and turn it up even more, and you have the Saturday Memorial Day show feeling.

What could have been the factor that turned it up, was that Las Vegas is not on his Worlds' tour roster. His Worlds World tour starts on August 28th in Vancouver, BC, goes to multiple US and Canadian cities and skips all around Las Vegas before it comes to an end in October.

Getting to hear this awesome producer with this much energy around me made my weekend! I can not wait until he decides to come play Las Vegas again! We will all be eagerly waiting!
