The Pipestone RV Campground is located in the southwest corner of Minnesota along historic Highway 75. This park is part of the Passport America system of RV parks and offers half price camping during the week. We stopped there on our way to Seattle.
The sites at the park are level, with some back in on grass and some, like to one we used, are gravel pull through sites. We had full hook up with water, electric and sewer. The camp hosts at this park were very helpful, and the atmosphere was comfortable. The park offered two tipis for rent as well. These must be fun for a family that has never slept in a tipi before. Check the campground website for reservation information.
The Pipestone National Monument is directly across the street from the park. This facility highlights the history of Native American culture. The rocks in the area have been quarried for hundreds of years, and are soft enough to carve into pipes and other items. Thus the name Pipestone.
