Pink brought her Truth About Love Tour to the Palace of Auburn Hills last night for her very first headlining show in the area since 2002 when she played the State Theatre (Fillmore Detroit).
In a two-hour show that covered her whole career, Pink more than proved that she is not just another pop star as she presented a power packed set full of acrobatics, visual enhancements, pyro, a fantastic band and backup singers and a crew of dancers.
All this was done as the singer was clearly singing "live", a fact that separates her from many of today's pop stars.
By the end of the evening, everyone was thoroughly convinced that Pink is the hardest working entertainer around and certainly the toughest.
She is also not afraid to laugh at herself and humor was something that drove the show throughout the evening as she was clearly enjoying herself.
The show kicked off with a intro video and the evenings odd emcee, who showed up throughout the show eliciting a number of laughs.
In the setting of "The Truth About Love" game show, Pink was chosen to be a contestant before making a strong stage entrance as she was shot up on bungee cords to perform "Raise Your Glass" while being suspended upside down on a trapeze with some of her male dancers.
The stage set featured an elaborate five screen production that changed and moved around before each song.
For "Try" Pink took to the ropes to twist and turn high above the stage before descending to recreate the dance moves from her video for the song as one of her male dancers tossed her around the stage.
"Sober" was a set highlight as she took to an airborne cage as her dancers leapt onto the sides and the entire crowd sang along to the heartfelt lyrics.
However, all of this was blown away when Pink returned to the stage for her first encore singing "So What" as she stepped into a harness and flew around the arena, spinning the whole way and landing on a couple of platforms set up at the back of the Palace where the singer engaged in handstands and banter with the crowd.
She then returned to the stage for a second encore reprising her Grammy performance of "Glitter In the Air", once again taking to the air in a cradle of silk and falling glitter before being dipped in water and spinning back out over the crowd.
It wasn't all high flying acrobatics as much of the show found Pink on stage performing large dance numbers including a medley of her early hits, "Most Girls", "There You Go" and "Make Me Sick".
She even pulled out a sensual performance of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" and slowed things down for powerful renditions of "Who Knew" and "Family Portrait", which found her backed by piano accompaniment.
Despite all of the action going on during the show, Pink also took some time to talk to the crowd, shake hands and even sign some autographs.
All in a day's work for the rebellious pop star!
