The denizen of the Corner View Restaurant, 80 South street, Concord N.H., have added to the mayhem that is breakast dining!
What do I mean? Hard to put into words really. The Corner View is delight, trust me? Just as recently as last week did I have the good fotune to dine there. I enjoyed the conversation of wonderfully charitable friends and took many a mental photograph of New Hampshire's winter fashion. Flannels, plaids, earth friendly cloth, rosebud cheeks minus the blush and a room full of Patriot's, Bruin's and Red Sox outerwear. In our little booth all had been comfy. Perhaps too much so! Weighing in at about seven hundred pounds our group of four felt like the last survivors in the World's Biggest Loser.
Wth very little fanfare our seating arrangements were rearranged and all had been made right again. How about the food you ask? Wonderful, tasteful, bountiful and well positioned on the plate. What of the value, you ask? Free and who could ask for more than that?
But what of Betty and the six ounce cup of coffee? Honestly, I don't know if the waitress's name was Betty. I didn't see her often enough to catch her name. Matter of fact, our little party of four saw our hostess so infrequently that we had to practically beg someone to cash us out.
And, what gives with the smaller than a shot glass mug of coffee? Is it to cut down on waste? Does the restaurant honesty believe the less they offer the less we'll ask for it? I'm hard core six or eight ounces of Java no matter how good the food is will stay with me longer than a good review! Jimmy Buffet once asked, what happened to my Junior Mints in the movies?
I ask, what happened to a sixteen ounce cup of coffee at a diner?
Thumbs up on the food Corner View. Thumbs down on the coffee particularly if Betty brings it!
