Pho Lang Thang

Nestled in Findlay Market, Pho Lang Thang offers exceptional Vietnamese cuisine at a great price. Although the language is hard to interpret on the menu, they have a small "translation dictionary" on the outside of the menu. The menu had a lot of options; soups, sandwiches, and something very unique. Vietnamese coffee. I ordered chicken soup, while my aunt ordered one of their sandwiches. They brought out my coffee in this unique cup that dripped the coffee into the cup. It was actually quite entertaining to sit and watch it being made right in front of me.The aroma of the restaurant is very pleasing and inviting. They did have some Vietnamese decor on the walls, and the front counter when you walk in has this cool brick wave design but I would have liked to see a little more culture within the restaurant. Maybe the employees could have worn a "Vietnamese conical hat" to enhance the cultural experience.

I ordered a regular sized bowl of the chicken soup, I was quite surprised of how HUGE it was. They also bring out a palette of veggies to sprinkle on your soup, it included oregano, bean sprouts, bay leafs, and something else I think. But I can't come up with it. As well as three options for sauce for the soup. Some type of Vietnamese barbecue sauce, soy sauce, and hot sauce. (I'm sorry that I can't think of the names of some of the food items.)

My aunt loved her sandwich although she did take off the oregano. The server said that next time she could substitute the oregano for something else. The coffee was really good and had a very distinctive taste. My soup had a very great taste as well. It almost felt like I was being taken on a journey of flavors. The soup had one of the most fascinating taste that I have ever tasted.

I only have one thing that I wish they had, it looked as if they didn't have any desserts on the menu. I would have loved to try a Vietnamese dessert. Overall my first Vietnamese restaurant experience was very good. The people working there are very friendly. I had an awesome time!
