If you're like me, you ordered a ton of holiday gifts from online retailers and skipped the mall hassles altogether. There's no feeling quite as good as receiving a package in the mail. Even when virtually anything can be ordered online now, there was a time not long ago, when receiving a package was the highlight of your day. They were generally sent from friends or family and were filled with holiday or birthday gifts. But what if you could get a package each month filled with awesome goodies for your dog? And what if you could cherry-pick those goodies for your fur-buddy?
I recently came across, PetBox, a service that does just that. Each PetBox is customizable. No 2 dogs are the same, so why shouldn't you be able to choose just the right goodies for your pup? After all, you know him the best. PetBox lets you select the items for your monthly box. Select from treats, toys, bones & bully sticks, accessories, grooming goods and waste bags. The selections are high quality and vary nicely. This wasn't a box filled with tiny samples – they were worth far more than the total price of $39 (single box) and certainly $29 (the 12 month box subscription price). Shipping is free, too. I was impressed with the number of organic and healthy products available. I'm partial to products made in the USA, especially those made by small businesses. This might be another category for offerings that PetBox might consider.
My own box contained Honest Kitchen Smooches treats, Healthy Dogma treats, a large organic cloth duck chew toy, a box of NoviPet Multi Vitamins, two varieties of Sliders Holistic Dog Treats, Earth Heart Canine Calm spray, an “In Case of Emergency..” sticker by KeepDoggieSafe.com and a gift card for DogTV. All of these goodies came in an attractive, bright blue box. It was like Christmas morning for my dogs!
PetBox is a company with a conscience. Not only can you order a very cool monthly box for your dog, PetBox will contribute proceeds from your boxes to donate pet food to shelters and rescues nationwide. Each Friday, PetBox folks send a pet food donation to a shelter or rescue in need. Their team is active on their Twitter account #PetBoxFridays during this time to share their experiences. With each purchased box, the donations grow!
The PetBox website is easy to navigate and user friendly. My questions were answered promptly and professionally. You can purchase a single box, 3 months of boxes, 6 months of boxes, or a full year's worth of 12 boxes. There's a nice discount for volume, with the greatest savings coming with the purchase of a year's worth of boxes. I have a few pet lovers on my gift giving lists that would love to have their pets pampered each month.
PetBox is a creative and fun way to give a pet related gift that isn't the same old boring toys and treats from the local pet store. PetBox is a win-win service. You get cool goodies you can hand-pick for your dog (or cat), you can help them feed pets in need, and you don't have to wait for the holidays for that awesome “I just got a package” feeling!
