Carraba’s Italian Grill in Apex is a great place to bring your family for pizza, steak, chicken and more.
Carraba’s has delish pizzas. It is pizza the way it should be, according to this examiner anyways--thin crusted with just enough crisp, no oil pooling under the crust, a bit of cheese and bursts of incredible flavor. The brick-oven Italian chicken pizza is topped with a yummy sweet and sour red sauce, green onions, pine nuts and fontina, romano and mozzarella cheeses. Hands down, this examiner almost always orders the same thing because the pizza is so good.
If you are not into pizza, give their chicken marsala a try. Oh my goodness, if chicken breast can be prepared this way all the time, well, it would be glutinous. The perfectly grilled serving is topped with mushrooms, prociutto, and a Lombardo Marsala wine sauce.
A side salad comes with many dishes and their Caesar salad is actually quite large. It is loaded with flavor though a bit on the salty side.
While healthy eating is best accomplished by preparing and cooking your own meals at home, enjoy lunch or dinner at Carraba’s with a few considerations. Order your salad with the dressing on the side, dipping your fork in the dressing for every bite; you will consume less fat and calories without missing the flavor. Ask for the small option on the menu instead of the regular; a regular plate is quite a lot of food. Eat half of the pizza, saving the other half for another meal.
