I am not normally one to use different individual products for specific areas, but I recently had the opportunity to try the PCA Skin Perfecting Neck and Decollete, and I must say it may have changed my mind.
For several years now, I have had constant faint redness and uneven skin tone in the "v-neck area". By this, I mean the area that is exposed if you are wearing a standard v-neck tee shirt. I guess I never realized just how red it really was until people started commenting that it looks like I had been in the sun. I would simply reply that "no I hadn't, it was permanent".
I had tried several different lotions and oils on the area that had moisturized well enough, but had not really done much for the redness or the uneven skin tone.
After one week of using the PCA Skin Perfecting Neck and Decollete, it seems to my eyes that the redness has significantly faded and the overall skin tone looks more even in color. The instructions do say to use it twice a day, but since I'm only using it once a day, I'm pretty certain that my results have been slightly delayed over a twice-a-day regimen. But you don't need much per application for just this area, so I have plenty left to keep using it.
Some of the key ingredients that yield these noticeable results include:
- Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 - Stimulates collagen production to strengthen the skin and minimize wrinkling
- Grape Cell Extract - A key antioxidant that protects the skin stem cells from damange
- Retinol/Vitamin A - Helps to promote a clear complexion and a more even skin tone
- Rye Seed Extract - Helps stimulate the fibers that reduce laxity (sagging) in the skin
The literature on this product states that it can help address fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, persistent redness, thinning skin, and laxity. Based on my short personal trial, I have to admit that it has made a difference in several of these areas. I can't really speak to laxity because I am not seeing the signs of sagging in that area just yet but I'm sure the time will come!
Since most of these types of damage come from sun exposure, and you want to protect that newly refreshed skin tone, make sure to use your sunscreen with this product to extend the results and reduce fighting an uphill battle!
