Paula Quinn's seductive knight

In Paula Quinn’s Seduced by a Highlander, the second title in her Children in the Mist series for Forever/Grand Central Publishing, she moves away from the band of friends who saved Lady Davina in the previous novel (reviewed here) to give Rob MacGregor’s brother Tristan a bit of trouble. As a child, Tristan watched his beloved uncle die and has held the guilt for years, usually by seducing any pretty thing out of her skirts. Whether or not she’s married doesn’t seem to matter to young Tristan. Yet, a stop-over at the King’s Court brings him into the company of one Isobel Fergusson. Tristan’s smitten with his “Isolde”, but given she’s of the hated Fergusson clan, he feels it best to keep his mouth shut on the subject of his exact familial ties.

When Isobel figures out who he is, she feels (rightly) betrayed, but gee if he isn’t handsome enough to forgive. She resolves to forget all about him, and while the eldest brother remains in England, Isobel and the others return home.

But Tristan is determined to fix the rift between the two clans—and his honor— and so takes it upon himself to visit and befriend the Fergussons. Isobel’s brothers converge upon him with a vengeance and knock him on his behind. Isobel can think of only one thing: If Tristan’s killed on her lands, the MacGregors will certainly come seeking blood. But just because she has to nurse him back to health doesn’t mean she has to like it, even if Tristan’s determined to win her heart, despite whatever frustrating blockades the hellion Fergusson sons throw at him. But does Isobel really want him to?

So what happens? You’ll have to read this one to find out.

For me, Seduced by a Highlander was not what I expected when I requested it from Grand Central (but I admit, much time passed between then and now). Still, it was enjoyable. If you like Scottish Historical Romance, and stubborn heroes and heroines are your thing, I encourage you to give it a read. You may enjoy it very much. If you'd like it, it’s available at amazon (in paperback and Kindle), barnes and noble.com in paperback and for Nook, or of course offline at your favorite Tampa bookstores.
