Overall the Planet Hollywood was everything I had hoped it would be. I played well, enjoyed my stay, and won a little bit here and there. The poker room staff is well-trained, well-managed, and extraordinarily accessible to the South elevators where my room was located on the 33rd floor.
The Hidden Gem of the Planet Hollywood was not in the Poker Room. It was not the scantily clad dealers of the Passion Pit, whom all look as they should be on stage somewhere in Las Vegas. Some of them even get up on mini-stages and dance in the background of the tables. If you visit Planet Hollywood make sure and check them out, you will not be disappointed.
Back to the Gem of Planet Hollywood, there was a Let It Ride dealer named Dee Dee. In my opinion, Dee Dee is the best kept secret of Planet Hollywood.
I had never played Let It Ride before that morning, the morning I met Dee Dee.
Rob, one of the guys I traveled with plays it every chance he gets. I watched as Rob played when Dee Dee talked me into sitting down and learning the game. She never forgot my name after reading it on my player’s card. She was patient with me while I made decisions about a game I was just learning. At times, she would give me advice, most of which turned out to be the right advice. Dee Dee was the best ambassador I came across while I stayed at the Planet Hollywood.
I have little knowledge of operating a casino, but Dee Dee may be going to waste dealing Let It Ride. Possibly she should be training others on how to make guest want to return to Planet Hollywood the next time they are in Las Vegas.
Overall I could not have been more pleased with staying at Planet Hollywood. The Poker Room was exactly what I wanted it to be. The food was superb, visit the Steak House for a great meal, the Earl of Sandwich has excellent food if you are short on time.
The room was larger than most of the others I had stayed at in Vegas. The Strip view from my room was fantastic. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Dee Dee made me want to come back for a visit and play some more cards with her. Travel to the airport was under 15 minutes.
To be honest, I cannot wait until June gets here, so I can take my wife to Las Vegas and stay at the Planet Hollywood again.
