Paranormal TV review: 'The X-Files' episode #20

Episode 20 was called, Darkness Falls and it's one of those that deals with environmentalist and horror! It aired in 1994 on April 15th. Mulder and Scully are called because a group of loggers are missing and two Eco-terrorist are blamed for it. After awhile they scanned the area and find a dead body in an insect cocoon. One of the Eco-terrorists are alive and they tell Mulder and Scully that he's innocent and that the murderers are bugs that get you in the dark. Only light can make you survive and then the episode goes with them trying to survive in the wilderness with limited lighting.

Darkness Falls is a pretty good suspenseful episode and the ending of it, is pretty neat. It doesn't fully In one scene when the lights start to flicker and there are little bugs all over the place, it's sort of scary. The tension is pretty thick. It's not an alien, vampire, werewolf, or anything like that, it's these little bugs that basically destroy your body. A swarm of these things are not pretty to get tangled up with. Simple 'monster' for the show but yet it's a great terrifying episode.

The episode has a good message to it, if you mess with the forest it will get it's vengeance. or another message would be is take care of the forest as it's your own home. Actually this episode won an award for it's message from the Environmental Media Awards in 1994. Darkness Falls gets four stars because of it's smart and interesting plot line and for making simple things into bigger problems. Humans think they can control the world but they really can't. So this episode gets 4 out 5 stars!

What to watch it? Netflix and Hulu Plus have the episode!
