Paranormal film review: 'The Last Man On Earth'

"The Last Man On Earth," is one of the best Vincent Price movies, though most of his are all great. This b-picture was based on the novel, I Am Legend. Price gives the whole movie emotion and suspense to the point that you're on the edge of your seat. His character, is strong but yet pitiful. He's "alone" in a world of blood-suckers!

The past scenes are sad because you know that his family is gone though the scenes explain why he's alone and what happened so you do need them. But seeing his young daughter, shows the emotion in the horror of it all. It's one of the better post-apocalyptic horror movies out there. It's frightening and thrilling to watch because it's about a man who decides to save himself even if he's alone. The movie though fiction makes one wonder what would they do if they were the last person on earth? Think about that for a moment.

Price makes the movie because he gives his character two dimensions, a glorified fighter and a very lonely man. He knows that he must fight to survive and he does it well but he also longs for companionship. Like any person who is alone and who is trying to make it during a vampire plague. The layout of the movie makes it believable surprisingly. How the director created a lost and gone abyss for just a little picture is both imaginative and impressive. Some fans might not know this but "The Last Man On Earth," was filmed in Rome, Italy and it's classified as an Italian Science Fiction Horror movie. The director was, Ubaldo Ragona, who is known for his documentary pictures.

Anyway if vampires, Vincent Price, and a post-apocalyptic world interest you and you haven't seen the movie, do it before you're the one on earth. This movie deserves, a 4 star rating out of 5 stars.
