The Outdoor Research Warrant gloves aren’t messing around when it comes to extreme dexterity and comfort without sacrificing protection for your hands on ice and mixed climbing routes. With the weather-resistant stretch soft shell fabric, climbers are provided with a secure, comfortable fit while the waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX® insert combined with PrimaLoft® insulation keeps hands warms and dry while also moving perspiration away from the skin.
The Warrant gloves have a pre-curved construction as well as a Pittards® Oiltac® leather palm that ensures a firm grip on your tools even when wet. Articulated, compression-molding padding protects your digits from impact. They have a leather hook/loop wrist cinch that provides wrist support and a back-of-hand carabiner loop.
The Warrant gloves are a really sharp and durable looking glove. These gloves practically beg you to take them out on the ice/mixed routes just by looking at them. They were cushy and warm on the inside and nice and grippy on the outside. I usually wear a pair of liners in addition to my gloves for ice/mixed climbing just to keep my hands warm, but I didn’t need to with the Warrant gloves.
There were a couple of days where it was warmer than usual where we climbed, so some of the mixed routes had a lot of dripping water. Despite getting soaked and trying to avoid getting water in the eyes, there were absolutely no issues with trying to keep a grip on my ice tools. There were no instances where the tools felt as though they’d slip out of my hands with how great the Pittards Oiltac leather was. Some of my friends used my Warrant gloves just to try them out, and they immediately fell in love with how incredibly comfortable and grippy they were. There were times when I wasn’t climbing and I’d find my gloves missing only to see them on one of my friends making their way up another route. They were THAT good. The performance of the Warrant gloves was just absolutely fantastic.
The Outdoor Research Warrant gloves are nothing but exceptional. They performed with top-notch quality, the comfort was outstanding, and the design is absolutely brilliant. All the prime technologies in the material were in the right places on the gloves. If you want a highly functional ice/mixed climbing glove without unnecessary bulk that keeps your hands warm and protected, the Warrant gloves come highly recommended and are definitely a must-have for your adventures.
