Outdoor Edge has a new innovative replacement razor blade system in their Razor Lite series. You can choose to sharpen the blade or remove and insert a new one very easily with the push of a lock button. There are two knives in this series: The Razor Lite and the Razor Blaze. The Lite has a black handle, while the Blaze has an orange handle.
The Razor Blaze has a rubberized handle to ensure a secure, non-slip grip. The blade is Japanese 420J steel and is 3.5” long. Total weight of the knife is 3.6 ounces, and the overall length is eight inches. The knife comes complete with six replacement blades and a Mossy Oak camo nylon sheath.
The Razor Blaze is really a good-looking knife. The orange rubberized handle really catches the eye, and it has a nice grip to it. Replacing the blade is very simple, and once the blade is locked in, it stays in. The fact that there are six replacement blades is quite generous, and if you have a sharpener, that’s an added bonus to make each one of those replacement blades last quite some time.
The knife is very handy to have with you outdoors. The Razor Blaze was used for carving on some wood, shaving some kindling for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, and cutting various fruits and vegetables. It was also used for cutting cordelette to use for anchoring during climbing. The Razor Blaze handled all of these tasks well.
Outdoor Edge invented a very simple, yet innovative knife that is extremely useful while in the outdoors. There are so many uses for a knife like the Razor Blaze, and they’re just really good to have for survival purposes as you never know what could happen while out camping, hunting, fishing, or engaging in any outdoor activity. Having easily replaceable blades is a fantastic feature. You can never be too prepared or too safe in the outdoors. The only thing I’d suggest as far as the sheath is it’d be nice to have a clip on it. That would help with easier access. It’s definitely recommended to have with you while out on your outdoor ventures.
