Oodles of Noodles: Cures what ails you

This is my go to place when it comes to my fix for pho. Whether it's getting over a hangover or pushing past an awful sickness, Oodles of Noodles provides hot, steaming pho to cure what ails you.

Deco

This place is much too big for the actual restaurant. Although they have nice flat screen TVs that play sports games on weekends, the restaurant is never filled to capacity. The entrance looks like a cheap liquor store, with $1 vending machines holding Asian trinkets and toys. The actual restaurant floor is large and filled with old wooden tables and vinyl booths that have seen better days. This is probably due in fact with the actual building formerly existing as a Sizzler back in the day. But, don't let looks fool you. This place has great food.

Service

The service is very quick. From the moment you are seated, you'll probably have an average of 3 minutes before they ask you what you want. The menu might be vast, but you won't go wrong with many of the selections they have on the menu. So, although they harass you early for what you want to eat, don't be afraid to ask them for more time. Also, whatever you order, you'll probably receive it in 5 - 8 minutes, especially pho.

Food

The food is great. Whether you order the vermicelli or the pho, the food is great quality and nothing to laugh about. It's simple, hot, and clean. The food will leave you feeling warm and full. The egg rolls are crunchy and hot, the broth is rich and flavorful. All around, the food gets the job done, and when you're in a hankering for a spanking of your taste buds, that's what the doctor ordered.

Price

The pricing for Vietnamese food always makes me happy, especially hole in the wall places. Most dishes are around the $6 mark. Almost all the pho will cost under $6 for regular bowl size, with only a dollar difference for the large. If you're hungry, definitely opt for the large and extra noodles. It's great stuff.

Conclusion

Though there are plenty of pho places around the block, in Cypress area, this place is king. It's low key, has great food, and you can get in and out of this place in 30 minutes completely satisfied. Whether you're on the run or need something hot, this place gets the job done.
