True love’s kiss from Charming wakes Snow from the sleeping curse. Their wedding was interrupted by the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla). She vows to destroy everyone’s happiness.
The royal couple meets with Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle). A powerful mage locked up in their mine converted prison. Rumple will confess for a price. The name of their unborn child. A curse will take everyone to our world. Where they will forget their fairytale lives. Until their daughter Emma arrives 28 years later to break it.
Members of the war council are Snow, Prince Charming, Jiminy Cricket, Red Riding Hood (Meghan Ory), her Grandmother (Beverley Elliott), Geppetto (Tony Amendola ), Grumpy, Doc, the child Pinocchio (Jakob Davies) and Knights.
Blue Fairy (Keegan Connor Tracy) gives Intel about a magical tree. If it’s turned into wardrobe. It will send one person to another realm. The royal couple decides to send baby Emma across.
The curse has been released. The wardrobe has been finished. Snow gives birth. The Evil Queen rides to their castle. Swordfights between Prince Charming and the Evil Queen’s guards. Charming puts baby Emma in the wardrobe before collapsing.
Henry Mills (Jared Gilmore) finds his birth mother Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) in Boston. After the shock wears off she drives him home. In StoryBrooke Maine Emma and Henry encounter Dr. Archie Hopper (Raphael Sbarge) aka Jiminy Cricket. Who is counseling Henry.
Mayor Regina Mills aka the Evil Queen. Emma meets Sheriff Graham (Jamie Dornan) after dropping off Henry. Who runs away again. Emma crashes her car then wakes up in jail. Cellmate Leroy aka Grumpy whistles a famous tune. Marco aka Geppetto. A jack of all trades.
Emma makes a deal with the Sheriff and Mayor. She’ll help if they let her out. Mary Margaret Blanchard aka Snow White. Henry’s homeroom teacher. Emma convinces Henry to return home.
Regina doesn’t want Emma around. But she decides to stay. Mr. Gold aka Rumple. Pawnbroker and landlord. Ruby aka Red Riding Hood . Her Granny runs a popular restaurant and B&B. David Nolan aka Charming. A comatose hospital patient where Mary Margaret is a volunteer.
The good: OUAT is a unique family friendly drama. It’s peppered throughout with Disney and Lost references. Robert Carlyle is a scene stealer.
The bad: Because OUAT is different people will either love it or hate it.
The ugly: Will the audience learn the motive behind the Evil Queen’s curse?
