OK Go, a Chicago-based music group, never ceases to amaze its audiences with their artistic and innovative music videos. It all started with their famous treadmill dance music video for their song Here It Goes Again. Ever since, the band has been releasing more and more visually stunning music videos including the epic domino rally in This Too Shall Pass, a stop-motion/time-lapse walk through the park in End Love, and the unity of film graphics and painting in WTF? However, OK Go’s latest video struck me because of their use of performance dogs.
The new video for White Knuckles features canines who do many of the same tricks you would see in a circus show. They leap over hurdles, pose on command, and even use the band members as ramps and platforms.
This is not the first time OK Go has utilized circus-style performance. Their music video for the song Do What You Want features a hula hooper, stilt-walker, and globe walker (not to mention a performance biker, break dancers, rope skipper, as well as an inventive use of wallpaper).
The video for White Knuckles premiered on the internet yesterday (September 20) and already has over 1 million views on YouTube. All of the dogs used in the video were rescued with the help of the ASPCA and were trained by Lauren Henry and Roland Sonnenburg of Talented Animals.
