What better inspiration than a great Brazilian architect? The Antonio Berardi Fall 2013 Ready to Wear collection was debuted yesterday during London Fashion Week, and was deeply inspired by the late Oscar Niemeyer, a brilliant architect. This explained the expert cuts of the outerwear, as well as the dresses in the collection. The bold pieces in this collection that graced the runway Tuesday will definitely be top sellers, due to not just their boldness, but the ability for each piece to transition successfully from day to evening.
The beautiful dresses Antonio Berardi are known for were full of beautiful bold hues of blue, deep reds, and neutrals such as grey, white, and timeless black. The dresses in the collection proved to be uberfemenine and very sexy without being revealing. Colorblock and geometric prints danced across some of the dresses, while asymmetrical cutouts with sheer inserts were strategically placed near necklines. This collection boasted of edgy gowns that accentuated the waistline, and beautiful body conscious dresses that were designed to turn heads in any room. Berardi stated that his work was not about form following function, but about form following beauty and femeninity. This collection was a perfect example. Job well done on capturing the essence of femeninity, Antonio Berardi.
